About

Hi, I’m Ali Asher, but you can call me Asher

I am a professional photographer from Houston, TX, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. I am a car fanatic and an avid follower of Formula 1. I went to my first F1 race in 2022 and it was probably the best weekend of my life so far (Don’t tell my wife I said that). I also love the mountains. I try and visit the rockies once every year and love hiking through the trails.

As I was growing up, I found photography as an expression of my creative thought-process. Ofcourse, at that time it was a flip phone camera, then a point and shoot, then a DSLR and now a mirrorless. At every step, I loved finding new and interesting perspectives of things that might be mundane and present them in a new light. I try to do the same with my photoshoots.

I specialize in portraits, couples and events but you can often find me working on real estate projects or taking pictures of cars. The best thing about working with me is you don’t have to worry about the number of edited pictures, locations, outfits and such. If you book me, you get all the images that are exceptional quality from within that timeframe.

That’s a lot of text for a photographer, who is supposed to say a thousand words in a picture. I hope to work with you soon and talk about bringing your imagination to life.

FAQs

What is the booking process?

Once you have a date and time finalized, you can fill out the inquiry form to reach out to me. I will then respond within 24-48 to finalize the details and availability. Once we’re ready to proceed, a $100 deposit (unless otherwise mentioned) will be due to reserve the date and time.

How Did You Get Started Doing This Type Of Work?

I was 12 years old when I visited Dubai to visit my uncle, who was a NatGeo accredited wildlife photographer. I was fascinated by his work ethic to create unique perspectives and incorporate a creative aspect in every one of his images. I was instantly hooked and started doing photography with a small point and shoot camera.

Do you edit the pictures?

Color grading is what mostly separates the style and looks of one photographer from another, and over the years I have developed my own editing style that I keep consistent in my portfolio. I don’t photoshop your bodies, features or clothes. You’re beautiful as you are.

Can you help me decide the location, outfits and such?

Ofcourse, as a photographer, I tend to get around town and explore a lot of places but none of the places are as important as one that’s meaningful to you. Think about places that hold meaning to you. As for the outfits, earthy tones along with pastels make for the best contrast in the images. Feel free to add your own twist to make them more…you!
